The Legend Behind Nohkalikai
According to Khasi folklore, Ka Likai, a young woman who remarried after losing her husband, was driven to despair after her second husband killed her child out of jealousy. Upon discovering the tragic truth, she leapt off the cliff near the waterfall, hence the name – Noh Ka Likai meaning "the leap of Likai".
