History of Mukhi Naga Temple

It is believed that Lord Subrahmanya once appeared in the dreams of Shastri. He further followed the dream and reached Ramohalli. There he saw a cobra which measures around 25 feet in length, moving very slowly towards the roadside. Nagabhushana, who came to consult Shastri stated that he has never seen such a huge snake in this region.

Both of them entered the farmland to see the three serpents of Shastri’s dream. There they spotted an inner spectrum, where hood open three snakes moved very quickly. Shastri was extremely happy and filled with a mixture of joy and surprise at the same time. Sensing the potential of this enriched place, he further obtained permission from the Nagabhushana for the pacification of the rituals and performed for the people with the Sarpa dosha.

Followed by this, Shastri again had the dream where Lord Subrahmanya asked him to build a temple with the idol of Lord Nagaraja with the similar height of the snake he found moving there. Thus, following the demand, Shastri took 3 years to raise the fund and built the temple. He infused 15 workers for a year to build up this temple.

The journey to this is itself a celebration for the people of Ramohalli. Trucks carried the idol to the entitled place and it started showing heavily. The heavy shower, the scorching thunder showered the lord with rain and welcome the idol gladly. The commoner witnessed the miracle that day which is mentioned in the pages of history.
