Gobardhanpur Or G-plot

Gobardhanpur comes under the Patharpratima block in the South 24 Parganas district. The beach in Gobardhanpur is 5 kilometers long. The distance between Kolkata and Gobardhanpur is a little above 100 kilometers.

Like all other tourist spots near sea beaches, G-Plot also has a very pleasant and healthy environment throughout the year.

Summer remains hot here but it seems pleasant for the sea breeze. The airy atmosphere and the Jhau forest nearby bring down the temperature in Summer and make the place soothing for the dwellers.

Winter is also as pleasant as Summer. Here it won’t feel chilling cold but a calmness will reign around.

The rainy season is a little bit muddy in this area and boat rides become tough and risky at this time. But monsoon has its beauty too to enjoy this beach.

Except for the monsoon, you can come here any time of the year to enjoy the fullest of the remote rural beauty.

The best time to visit this place we would suggest is the winter. As you will be very happy to see the Olive Ridley turtle in Kalash Island comes for breeding here at this time.

You have to reach Patharpratima or Ramganga to catch a ferry to G-plot. Patharpratima and Ramganga are on opposite sides of a river. But to reach them, you have to take two separate roads from Kolkata.

For Patharpratima, you have to reach Kakdwip by bus from Esplanade or a train from Sealdah. From Kakdwip, you can ride another bus to Patharpratima or hire an auto-rickshaw to reach there in one hour.

For Ramganga, you have to reach Lakkhikantapur by bus or a train from Sealdah and then take another bus to Ramganga.

The ferry from Ramganga comes from Patharpratima and will leave you at Chandmari Ghat, which will be the last stop. Chandmari Ghat is on Gobardhanpur island. You have to take a van rickshaw from the Chandmari Ghat and reach your accommodation near the beach.
